Student-Teacher Ratio is the number of students per teacher in an institute. It is calculated by dividing the total number of pupils enrolled at a specific level of education by the number of teachers teaching pre-dominantly at that level. Ideally, at the primary level, the STR should be 30:1 and at the upper primary level, it should be 35:1. The higher the ratio the lesser is the focus received by the individual pupil.
